SS 430 Slip-On Flanges

The SS 430 Slip-On Flange (SO Flange) is a popular forging component characterized by its bore being slightly larger than the pipe's outer diameter, allowing the flange to simply slip over the pipe . It is then secured to the pipe using fillet welds at both the inner and outer surfaces. This design simplifies alignment and reduces fabrication costs compared to Weld Neck Flanges, though it is generally limited to moderate pressure and temperature applications. Manufactured from Ferritic Grade 430 Stainless Steel (UNS S43000), these flanges are selected for their excellent oxidation resistance and good general corrosion resistance. Grade 430 is famously magnetic. Zeron Fasteners produces these flanges using reliable forging techniques, ensuring a dense, uniform material structure. SS 430 Slip-On Flanges are widely used in sectors like general plant utilities, low-pressure process piping, and cooling water systems where ease of installation and a cost-effective stainless solution are key requirements.
